Who I am
I am Nat Pike. I publish AI tool tutorials, reviews, and affiliate content on studiohacks.net and on the Studio Hacks YouTube channel. If you need to reach me about this policy or your data, use the contact page.
Comments
If you leave a comment, I collect the fields you type in the form, plus your IP address and browser user-agent. That extra data is there to catch spam. An anonymised hash of your email may be sent to Gravatar to see if you have a profile photo. Gravatar’s policy is at automattic.com/privacy. Approved comments and their metadata stay on the site so I can recognise follow-up comments without putting you back in the moderation queue.
Cookies
The site uses cookies that WordPress and plugins set. If you comment, you can choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies so you do not retype them next time (those last about a year). The login screens set a short test cookie to see if your browser accepts cookies, and login/session cookies if you have an account. I do not run a pop-up “we sold your data” wall because I am a one-person site, not an ad network.
Analytics: Jetpack Stats and Ahrefs
I use Jetpack Stats (from Automattic) and Ahrefs analytics to see which pages get read, roughly where visitors come from, and which devices show up. These tools set their own cookies or similar identifiers and process IP addresses and page views on their servers. I use that to decide what to write next, not to build a dossier on you. Their policies live on Jetpack/Automattic and Ahrefs’ own sites.
Embedded content
Reviews and tutorials may embed YouTube videos, social posts, or other third-party widgets. Those embeds behave as if you visited the other site: they can set cookies, collect your IP, and track the embed. I do not control that.
Affiliate hops and outbound cookies
Some links on this site — including short hop URLs — send you to a partner such as a VPN, AI image tool, or music tool. Those partners and their affiliate networks can set cookies when you land there so they know the click came from Studio Hacks. If you later buy, I may earn a commission. That tracking happens on their domain, not as a silent pixel I hide on every page. Read the affiliate disclosure for how those links work.
What I do not do
I do not sell mailing lists. I do not run a comment-powered lead magnet. I do not invent extra email fields so I can spam you. I am not running a shop checkout on this WordPress install.
How long data stays, and your rights
Comments stay until I delete them or you ask me to remove them. If you have left a comment or have an account, you can ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you, or ask me to erase it, unless I have to keep something for security or a legal reason. Email via the contact page. I am in Adelaide, Australia; if you write from the EU/UK I will still treat a deletion request seriously even though this is a small publisher site.
Spam checks and where data goes
Comments may be checked by an automated spam service. Analytics and embeds send data to the United States and other countries where those companies host. Hosting is on the web host behind studiohacks.net.
If this policy changes in a material way, I will update the date at the top of this page.
